Welcome to the Women’s Ministry at Oregon Trail Church of God.
We meet monthly—sometimes it’s a business meeting to plan events for the future. Other times we meet for friendship and fellowship. Watch the church bulletin and this web page for specific details. Or grab one of the women in the church and find out what she knows. We hope you’ll join the fun, too.
We recently elected our new Local Coordinator (President) Vera DeMay. Vera comes to us with a heart for women, a spirit of encouragement, experience leading other women, and a big love for Jesus. Congratulations and thank you, Vera!
Here are some photos that show what fun we ladies have when we get together. This was our event “Painting with Vera.” Vera DeMay helped us bring forth our inner artist by painting an ocean scene in acrylic paints. Fun!

Lovely paintings and even lovelier ladies.
Here are upcoming events.
Every Tuesday at 9:00 am: Women’s Bible Study downstairs at the church. We are presently studying the character and circumstances of Rahab and how God redeemed her and brought her into His family.
Saturday, December 9 after a short business meeting at 9:30 we will have our Christmas Potluck Brunch. Bring a tree ornament and food to share. We will also have a money tree to benefit Hope’s Door.
We will discuss the final book in the Mark of the Lion Trilogy by Francine Rivers after our January 13 business meeting.
Saturday, November 18 at 9:00 am: Field trip to the Holiday Bazaar at the Cloverdale Church of God. Signups will be at the church for ride sharing.
Also within the Women’s Ministry:
Yard Sale: We hold an indoor “yard” sale (usually spring and fall). Most items are priced at a quarter. Gather your goodies to donate or plan to attend and buy more. Details will follow as the time nears.
Samaritan’s Purse: a world-wide filling of shoe boxes that are sent to children around the world. Shoe boxes are gathered in November and December, but the fun of shopping and filling them can last all year.
Hope’s Door: We support this local shelter for abused women and children financially and in practical ways.
Feeding the Grieving: Providing food and time for fellowship for families after church funerals.
Adopt-a-Senior: our ministry of canned and boxed food for elderly folk in the community.
Feed My Sheep: our ministry of providing meals for families in need. Please contact the church office if someone you know needs a meal or if you would like to provide one.
Women’s Retreat: Each spring women attend a weekend retreat off site for fellowship and inspiration. Stay tuned for details after the first of the year.
Dinners: The women coordinate various events throughout the year for fellowship with our congregation, including a Valentine’s Dinner, Thanksgiving Dinner and church-wide potlucks. The women also coordinate finger food and desserts for the Old Hymn Sing at our church and other occasions the Pastors might request.
Summer Fun: During the summer months we take a break from business but join together each month for fellowship and fun. Party Nights occur in June, July and August.
Linen Chest: Our women financially support the Linen Chest, a mission assistance through the Church of God. The Linen Chest provides linens, clothing, appliances, and college assistance for missionary families.
Change the World: Our women collect pocket change to help support the Church of God Christian Women Connection ministries, including SHINE, the church-wide Christ’s Birthday Offering that goes to mission outreach projects.
